Red: Party Location Amber: Current Destination
After successfully repelling a trap from Highwaymen along the Merchant Road, the party encounter a Samsaran monk who was taken prisoner by the Highwaymen, and they release him into their company. Sij was performing a courier side-quests in between pilgrimages, the most significant was to secretly deliver a sealed letter to Lady Katherine Arcadeus (Prince Rhed's Mother) in Rhuen.

The weary party continues to travel north to the capital, but decide to stop in the Regional capital of Kentonborough; the seat of House D'Arcy, where they convene with Lord Stanford D'Arcy at the Cerulean Manor. He seems insincere and preoccupied with fortifying the city's defenses for a potential siege. He reluctantly provides food and shelter for them. By this point, Melanie and her prisoner; Cynthia, disband from the party and rest at the One-Eyed Raven Inn. In the night, Cynthia manages to gorge on a victim, satiating her vampiric urges, and does so undetected. The Hell-Knights, Seltyiel, and Sij awake the next morning to find the Prince missing. And they later find him at Qif's Eels vendor near the town lake.

In Kentonborough, Hel purchases a Fire Staff from Zeno's Arcane Emporium and the Hell-Knight siblings attend a few rounds in the Dueling Academy. Nefarion defeats Percival in a short yet brutal duel and then Seltyiel overwhelms Nefarion in a second duel. Shortly afterwards, the PCs decide to leave the city and make for the capital. They clamber aboard a wagon, and are ferried rest of the way to Rhuen. Along the way however they sight a huge ominous figure seemingly staring at them on the horizon, and in the night, when the wagon stops in the forest briefly, the party loses sight of the Prince. Later on (after hearing a cry for help), they locate the Prince in the forest and an assassin has a knife to his throat. After antagonizing the assassin, he stabs the Prince in the throat, mortally wounding him. The assassin is swiftly electrocuted inside out by Ysera, and the PCs examine and loot the body. Nefarion takes a couple of daggers including a +2 Bleeding Dagger and a +2 Anarchic Dagger. A few members of the party notice a tattooed symbol on the back of the assassin's neck (the central eye seems to stare at them, and shrinks back into the body, beneath the skin.) Nefarian also takes a vial of the assassin's blood, and consumes it in his next ritual. Through thick and thin, the party eventually reach the Royal Capital; Rhuen, the home of Prince Rhed and the Arcadeus Royalty. They convene with Queen Karyn at the Palace of Embers, and promptly find the Prince medical attention.
